Summer might be over, but hydrated skin will give the glow for a star makeup look to live its best life! September marks one of the most exciting times of the year for a MUA – the season of new product launches! I, as a Bridal Makeup Artist, have tried and tested some of the most promising pieces giving you a fail-safe wishlist for your bridal skincare and makeup this year. For Fresh Skin Before, During and After!

The big beauty hit of 2020 was the launch of the Ole Henriksen brand in the region last March. Emerging into the market with an amazing range called the Truth Collection that promises all the key things perfect for a bride: brightening, hydrating and skin firming action. Most of the products contain Vitamin C and E (antioxidants) and Hyaluronic Acid that actively works to plump the skin’s surface.

One of my favourite products from the range is the Truth Juice Daily Cleanser (125aed on Sephora.ae). I highly recommend you use it both on the day of your wedding and the following morning. Its Orange scent will wake you up in a “Yes, I do” mood, refreshing your skin along with your senses from a long night of celebration.

With hot weather all year round, our skin generally needs hydration just as consistently. So,  hydrate your skin and refresh your makeup with the new Fenty Beauty What It Dew Makeup Refreshing spray (140aed on Sephora.ae) both before and after the celebration – It may even threaten to steal the title from your head bridesmaid – as your best friend on your big day.

Eyes like no others

On any other day, your eyes are the window of the soul, so it makes sense that on such a big day full of emotion, they’ll be the centre of attention for your wedding pics. This hasn’t gone amiss with beauty brands who have launched exciting new products to cater to the winning feature for your big day. If you are planning on getting married this fall, the famous MUA, Nathasha Denona, just recently launched in the region with an amazing mini STAR palette (100aed on Sephora.ae) with the perfect hues for a fall wedding. This includes a great nude base shadow, and a rich brown one to give dramatic depth to your eye alongside a gorgeous shimmering rose gold shade for a romantic glimmer.

But by far, the products that blew my mind from this years debuting pieces are the new FC Beauty Shimmer Liquid Eyeshadows (12usd on Jawaherat.com). Specifically the Rose Gold Retro edition. It can be used as a base or solo as the show stopper to your makeup look. They’re so easy to use and don’t crease! A must for your wedding day.

If you love lashes with length, but without the clump, then you may get addicted to the new Marc Jacobs At Lash’d mascara (145aed at Sephora.ae). In addition to its super luxurious packaging, the brush will give you extra length with a fluttering romantic but defined eye look. Ideal to gain the full attention of your newly married husband.

Get the Bronze and the Flush

Those who follow me at Laure Sejean on Instagram will know how much I love the Charlotte Tilbury brand. This year, they released a bucket-load of collections. One of which is their new Airbrush Bronzer (245aed on Namshi) that is so good, it earned the status of joining my pro bridal makeup kit. Though it is a bronzing powder, it’s far from dry being that it’s full of Hyaluronic Acid (and we all love this ingredient!) to blur the appearance of pores and is formulated with a very finely milled pigment to smooth your skin. And for your wedding day, you need that kind of picture-perfect magic!

From Fenty’s new Fenty Cream Blush collection, I recommend the Petal Poppin as the perfect shade to complete your bridal makeup.
